Benji McLean (aka M.C-Lean) was born on the 8th of Febuary 1990 at Hornsby Hospital Sydney N.S.W Australia. His parents, with his older brother Timothy, decided to move from Sydney to Wollongong when M.C-Lean was nearly two years old. His younger brother Jason was born soon after. His mother, Debbie, who now has her family close by, raised her three teenage sons on her own since 2006. Benji is still currently living in the Wollongong area.

In 2009 when M.C-Lean was 19 years old he went through an extremly tough time battling depression, almost to the extent of taking his own life however in this dark time he decided to write down his thoughts and one thing led to another and he turned it into poetry, recording his first track 'Sometimes' in a mates garage using nothing more than a free instrumental from Youtube, garage band and a mac computer with a built-in mic.
Good vs Evil is M.C-Lean's debut solo album. It was officially released on CD in August 2017.
The title says it all with half the tracks representing the good, the inspirational & the deep with the other half of the tracks representing evil, raw and underground.
It was inspired by his personal belief that everybody has a good & bad side - no one is perfect.

Unfortunately in 2016 the Down Under Boyz went their seperate ways and D.U.B was no more. M.C-Lean however decided to continue making music and opened up the D.U.B Studio to the public. Now he is following his own path as a solo independent Rapper & Producer and committed to help and inspire other struggling, upcoming, hip-hop artists to record and produce their own music.
In 2017 M.C-Lean dropped his first solo album Good vs Evil.
